Lake Forest Park Water District Commissioner Retires

William Currie is retiring as Commissioner of Lake Forest Park Water District after 37 years of volunteer service. "Bill" began his service to the District after returning from vacation in 1973 and finding the neighborhood without water. He shortly assumed role of Secretary of the Board and later held role of President of Board on different occasions.

Bill's Electrical Engineering expertise was put to direct use by improving reliability with electronics to alarm and monitor the water supply system.

A reception honoring William Currie will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 12:30 pm. at Commissioner Dr. Julie Hunger's residence at 18213 Ballinger Way, Lake Forest Park. The public is invited to attend.

After reviewing the applications the current commissioners may interview applicants and after a background check have the authority to appoint a new member until the next regularly scheduled election.

William Currie was presented with a plaque with the inscription:

On behalf of the customers and employees of

Lake Forest Park Water District

we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for

thirty-seven years of honorable service as Commissioner.

Your exemplary devotion and ability are clearly seen:

In the details of over five hundred Board meetings,

In hiring and firings, in untold worries and plans for the

well being and future of the District,

In designs and devices created to keep things running,

In endless calls at all hours that took you away from those dearest to you,

In the confidence we face the future with today.

Sincerely,

Lake Forest Park Water District
